The Loss of a Great One

There’s a lot that I have lost to get what I have won… Jamie Wilson This week the music scene lost one of the greatest fans it has ever seen in Shawn Mohr. I met him a few years ago through Galleywinter as we were going to shows and eventually we slowed down long enough to talk and hang out. He started joining our crew up in Steamboat, coming to the acoustic shows and would drive the miles for the bands he loved. He never needed twitter, facebook or a website to show his passion for music.. he just let

Why you should have a “The Departed – Boarding Pass”

In an age when we are are glued to our iPhones and searching YouTube for videos of music we love, it stands to reason that the way bands promote their music should change from just magazine ads and announcing it on the radio. Seriously.. I want to print it out and hang it on every wall. Get dirty and make something cool…. this guy is coming to GreenFest so everybody else better bring their A game. Fans included. I get really pissed off when hear writers complain that writing is hard. Or when they say “writing has been hard lately”. Of course it is fucking

The Revive Sessions

About 4 months ago I started a small songwriting film project with some friends and towards the end of it my friend Alex got the idea to shoot the musicians in a one-time, quick take, “prove it” kind of set up. Something the guys could use for promo or just as an extra on their websites… whatever. As we edited it down we realized that we had something special and something we wanted to continue to record. The Revive Sessions were born. I put out the first one at the end of last year and everyone seemed to really dig
