The Hell Pony Rides Again

As posted by mP. Go to Jason Boland and the Stragglers forum and show them your support! That’s right Jason Boland and The Stragglers are back. After touring solid for seven years straight, recording four albums, a million miles traveled, and then, the sudden collapse of front man Jason Boland nearly two months ago, the Stragglers are looking forward to a new year, a new album, and a new start. Lead Guitarist Roger Ray, Drummer Brad Rice, Bassist Grant Tracy, and Fiddle/Mandolin player Noah Jeffries have been getting some much needed rest while Mr. Boland took a little trip out west to find his legs and as he puts it, “mend the fences of your mind.” The band will kick it off again on Thanksgiving weekend by heading south on IH-37 to the Executive Surf Club in Corpus Christi, Texas. The show set for Wednesday Nov. 23, ironically, will be in the same city as the last show they played before dispersing in early October. From there they head up to their old stomping grounds in Oklahoma City to play a special Thanksgiving Day show at the Bricktown Brewery. Then, don’t miss it when the band takes “Cowtown” by storm and rolls in to ”The World’s Largest Honky Tonk”, Billy Bob’s Texas on Friday night November 25th. Always as much of a band favorite as it is for the fans, expect The Stragglers to be in full effect for this show, and who knows, maybe even a special guest or two! Jason and the boys will finish out the turkey weekend by heading out Helotes way and tuning up for a show at the historic John T. Floores Country Store on Saturday the 26th. Known as one of the best live music venues around, this will definitely be a show you won’t want to miss. From there the band gears up to head back to the recording studio to record their fourth studio album, and fifth commercial release. More information about the venues and advance tickets can be found at the Stragglers website, www.thestragglers.com
