Rain Dancing in Texas

Our beloved state is in the midst of one of the fiercest droughts on record. We’ve compiled a list of our favorite Texas rain songs in hopes that it’ll conjure up Mother Nature to bring us some relief. No tornadoes or damaging thunderstorms…just a good ol’ soaking. Couldn’t find videos for Pat Green-“Rain in Lafayette”, Rodney Hayden-“It’s Just the Rain” and Charlie Robison-“If the Rain Don’t Stop”.

What are your favorite Texas Music rain songs?

Jerry Jeff Walker-“Hill Country Rain”

Robert Earl Keen-“Not a Drop of Rain”

Randy Rogers Band-“Damn the Rain”

Steve Earle-“The Rain Came Down”

Ryan Bingham-“Sunrise”

  1. I think “Pray for Rain” by Cody Johnson is appropriate for the Possum Kingdom area.
