One day like today... 1992 Willie brought Farm Aid back to Texas this day in 1992. He held it in Irving and it featured regular attendees/Farm Aid board members Neil Young and John Mellencamp.
1956 The movie "Rock Around the Clock" (with Bill Haley) made its premiere in Washington, DC. This is notable because "Rock Around the Clock" is considered the first rock n roll hit. It paved the way for Elvis which in turn paved the way for the Beatles, Stones, and eventually guys like Willie and PG.
1922 Orchestra leader Les Baxter was born in Mexia, Texas. He was Capitol Records top arranger and scored his biggest hit after arranging "Unchained Melody" for the Righteous Brothers. Baxter died in Newport Beach, California, on January 15th, 1996.

He played Wishing Well on an acoustic set that I have that XM radio played back in 2007 when Mescalito was released. He also played Bluebird at Steamboat 2008. Both are great tunes.

Can't wait! I was just thinking the other day that I needed some new Bingham in my musical rotation! I agree with Tank, GET HERE NOW MAY 5th! Then by the time I've worn out that CD, It will be time for the new Ragweed to come out, presumably in the Fall.

Any of these new songs out there on YouTube or other locations so I can get a preview?
Tell My Mother and Snakes Eyes are on Youtube. Great version of Snakes Eyes by a poster named Birmingham Steve. He has a lot of great music and a lot of other Bingham, including a great cover of To Live is to Fly.
