Greenfest 16 By the Bullets

-The river level and population was just about perfect.  Floated several times and the flow was ideal.

-Met many new, cool people this year.

-Reunited with some folks I hadn’t seen in too long.

-Billy’s Ice was a dang good time on Friday night.  The Texas Renegade boys are some of the coolest and most talented in Texas.

-Floating at midnight is cooler than floating at noon.  No pun intended.

-Tim Murphy aka Crackers and Cucumbers is a talented photographer and I’m glad he was there to document the weekend. Some of his shots are at the bottom of this piece.

-I like that we keep GF small, because it allows real community vibes.

-The Reed Brothers blew my mind, I wish more of you had gotten there early enough to see them.

-Flatland Cavalry is on the way up and quick. Cleto’s 20 Questions name association will be posted soon.

-Dalton Domino remains one of the most genuine, humble, kind and talented souls in this business.  So glad we had him and his killer band on the bill.

-Adam Hood and Jason Eady are Greenfest glue. Things just don’t stick together without them.

-Nick Sisoian, Eric Gaona and the entire RRIH crew were fantastic.

-I enjoyed the spotty cell service I had most of the weekend.  Being disconnected in the river environment was pleasantly welcomed.

-Inebriation doubles with the same amount of alcohol consumed just by being in the vicinity of the Guadalupe. It’s science and I saw it in action this past weekend.

-Sunday rolled out as it should have…minus the 90 minutes behind schedule we got.  That’s never happened before. River time.

-Each person that performed on Sunday is what it’s all about.  Each person that came, sang, drank, played in the water, laughed, cried, screamed and hung out is what it’s all about.

-Artists on Sunday are paid in tips only…and each set averaged right at $300.  That’s incredible and all thanks to the type of music fans we have in this community.  Thank you so much!

-Super proud of Jackie Darlene and John Dempsy.

-Austin Gilliam is a rock star.

-Tequila in Terry’s office is always welcomed.

-Drew Kennedy, Josh Grider and Chris King are Galleywinter and Greenfest anchors. They hold us together.

-It was a beautiful weekend.  Let’s do it again next year, shall we?
